A Free Resource For You: Friendship Reflection Questions

Today is the waning moon, which apparently is an invitation to wind things down, reflect on what was, and clear out what isn't working so we're ready for what is to eventually come. We're also a few days away from the winter solstice, the darkest time in the Northern Hemisphere, a time for hibernating and going within, pausing and reflecting, looking at where there's darkness and light. And we're exactly two weeks out from Jan 1 which, on the Gregorian calendar, means these next weeks wrap our year as we prepare to start anew on New Years Day.

Whenever it feels right to you, hopefully sometime in the next 2 weeks, you'll heed the call to take some time for reflection.

The Power of Reflection

I am big on reflection. I love looking back-- taking stock of all that I have to be grateful for, looking at what used to be important to me and inquiring whether it still is, feeling proud for what I stepped up and did, and honoring the losses and disappointments. I love taking a snapshot of who I am in this moment so I can later look back and see the growth and so that I am more conscious about what intentions I want to set going forward.

And especially to reflect in the area that matters so much to us: our friendships.

We are always looking for ways to foster more connections, to deepen our relationships, to create the belonging in our lives that feels most supportive to us.

But before we do that... we have wisdom to glean on looking back!

To that end, I encourage everyone to schedule some time to reflect on your friendships this last year.

To make that easier, I put together a worksheet to help guide you in this process, if that feels helpful to you. It's free! I'm happy to share a link from my dropbox that you can access.

It makes me happy to think of you lighting a candle, pouring a drink, and taking time to end your year with thoughtful reflection.

May you look back and feel proud and grateful for what was and hungry for what can be…

So many blessings on you.
